Exploring South Africa: Stellenbosch & Elgin with Thelema and Sutherland Join us for an exploration of South African wine with Thomas Webb of Thelema Mountain Vineyards. Thomas will begin with an introduction to South Africa’s wine industry and the unique characteristics that have shaped its winemaking regions before taking a closer look at two distinct sites: Stellenbosch, home to Thelema, and the cool-climate Elgin Valley, home to Sutherland Vineyards. Through a guided tasting of wines from both estates, Thomas will share his family’s story, how they came to farm these two remarkable sites, and how differences in climate, elevation, and terroir influence the wines produced in each region. Guests will have the opportunity to taste a range of white and red wines while discovering two distinctive expressions of modern South African winemaking.
